Job finding situation of graduates from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and related Graduate Schools

Learning at Graduate School

Many graduates from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science are hired by a number of companies that assertively recruit personnel with advanced expertise and research competence. Therefore, Kyushu University highly recommends undergraduates to continue on to Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering. More than 80% of undergraduates have recently entered Graduate School, and the numbers have been increasing.

Graduate School starts with a 2-year master's program followed by a 3-year doctoral program. Those who finish the master's program are given master's degrees and those completing the doctoral program are given doctor's degrees such as Ph.Ds. Graduate School students who study diligently can shorten the years in the doctoral program. A grade-skipping-system as shown below will allow graduate school students to earn doctor's degrees at the youngest age of 25.

Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering is comprised of the Department of Information Science and Technology, and the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, as shown below. Additionally, students of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science can choose other departments of the Graduate School, including the Department of System Life Sciences in the Graduate School of System Life Sciences, the Department of Kansei Studies, the Department of Automotive Science and the Department of Library Science in the Graduate School of Integrated Frontier Science, the Joint Graduate School of Mathematics for Innovation, for some academic faculty of these departments engage in the education at the Department of Electric and Electronic Engineering and Computer Science.

Subjects of the entrance examinations for Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering (ISEE) depend on Departments. They include mathematics, English, basic subjects of electrical engineering and computer science and other special subjects.
